The Maker Behind the Flame

Hi, I'm Sheryl, and WICK WORX is truly a one-person operation — a labour of love created from my little studio nestled in the foothills of Christchurch.

I'm a mum of two, a partner, and a small business owner, so life is always full. When we're not busy with family life or making candles, we love to travel and get out on all kinds of adventures. One of my favourite ways to explore is on my own motorbike, which has taken me on some brilliant adventures.

The WICK WORX Story

I'm basically a one-man band here! From designing and printing the labels myself to creating and maintaining this website, I do it all to keep costs down and maintain complete control over quality. As WICK WORX grows, I'm excited to keep learning and growing the social media and marketing side of the business too.

Our Commitment to Sustainability

I do my best to minimise waste and make thoughtful choices about the materials and packaging I use. I look for practical ways to make things last, reuse what I can, and reduce the environmental impact of WICK WORX. Being more sustainable is an ongoing journey, and I'm always learning and looking for ways to do better.

Looking to the Future

I'm excited about what's ahead for WICK WORX. My plans include making my own vessels out of Handcast Stone, a sustainable material that aligns with our eco-friendly values. I also hope to offer a refill option, to enjoy beautiful candles while reducing waste.

This is one of the first Handcast Stone pieces I've made in my studio. It's an early step towards creating beautiful, practical candle vessels of my own, and I'm excited to keep experimenting and see where this journey leads.

Thank You

Every candle that leaves my studio in Christchurch is made with care, attention to detail, and a genuine commitment to sustainability. Thank you for supporting a small, local business that's trying to do things the right way.
